Byron Bay, NSW – Winter

Byron Bay, so much to say.

I remember seeing Parkway Drive play at the high school in 2004 with August Burns Red and Architects. Probably the best show ive ever seen in my life and was my first experience of Byron Bay. Ive never seen so much chaos in 3 hours. And i think that built the foundation of how I view Byron 20 years on.

Do I fear Byron? A little. It is intimidating. After traveling thousands of kilometers in 2024, i think it is the hardest town to get your head around. That being said, it’s stunning. When we stayed for a week we based ourselves at Broken Head. What an incredible spot. We had amazing surf all week at Broken Head and in town.

As a surf photographer I feel like i barely scratched the surface. I can’t wait to be back.
