Murramarang, NSW

Just north of Batemans Bay you can find an area titled Murramarang, or South and North Durras. Surfing in South Durras, for us, was a lot of fun. We found a neat spot with swell rolling off a mini headland that produced some fun waves.

We stayed at the NRMA park in South Durras. Located right on the beach, with plenty of area for the kids to play, kangaroos to roam to not feel closed in. It was a great spot. It had a resteraunt and a pool area too.

This beach wasn’t a surf beach. I wish I had been into fishing earlier as a I feel there could have been some fun times, rod in hand.

We surfed primarily at Cookies Beach. That’s not to say the open beach further north didn’t have waves, but what we saw, and surfed at Cookies was a lot of fun.

I’m sure this spot might get popular around the summer time, but for the most part, we had it to ourselves, or one to two people out to share waves. South Durras is a sleepy holiday town and doesn’t attract a lot of buzz mid week.
