Middleton, SA

On our travels we were told about Surfing in Middleton and how good it was. For us, we experienced typical Autumn South Coast weather. It was rough, wild, powerful. Nothing like what we have been told. But we could see the potential, and the surfing we did see was unreal.

Middleton is a cute surfing village found on the Fleurieu Peninsula. It a busy little spot that attracts surfers from Adelaide and the surrounds. Essentially, South Australia’s Bells Beach and attracts similar weekender attention.

We had spent 10 days just north at Victor Harbour and were able to experience Middleton through some funky swells. It was cold, It was windy, It was wild. But I can see the appeal and how the wave would normally work under more favourable conditions.

So if your thinking of surfing in Middleton, you’ll need to do better research than we did to get the most out of your time.
