North West, TAS
Surfing in North West Tasmania is tougher than we thought it would be. It has to be one of the most untapped spots in the world.
Welcome to the edge of the world. There aren’t too many further from civilization spots than North West Tasmania.
We based ourselves out of Stanley for a few days. Some how Ella snagged a lone surf on the back beach which set up for some iconic photos.
We also did some exploring to Green Point. Is there surf? Hell yeah. Will it need the right conditions? Well, obviously. Did we get the stars to align, nope. But, if we had more time, and next time we go, we will camp closer to the West Coast to leverage these waves.
I’m sure there are more waves to find, we just didn’t have the time. So if your thinking of surfing in North West Tasmania, be up for one of the greatest adventures of a life time.
