Top 5 best longboard waves in NSW

Best longboard waves in NSW is one of the biggest searched phrases that draw people to Sea Chapel from google. So, why not share our top 5 favourite spots.
These arent the best spots… well… we could debate all day what the best are, but these are our best.
We could be wrong, but we don’t think so. Very happy to debate whilst drinking some mango juice on a headland watching the waves roll in.

Crescent Head.
Minute long waves. Consisant. Stunning. Awesome town. An epic alternative 20 mins down the road that could compete to be on this list by itself.
Yeah, Crescent Head has it all. Situated 90 mins south of Coffs Harbour, you also get the luxery of exploring and surfing South West Rocks about 30 mins north if, for whatever reason, you wanted to mix it up.
And there is surf for the shortboard south of town. I don’t know why we haven’t moved here yet. We should. We really should.

Arrawarra
North of Coffs Harbour this point break was crafted by God himself. The only thing this place doesn’t have is a cafe / coffee caravan (there is one a minute down the road now) on the beach. You can get all your goods from Woolgoolga and spend the whole day at one of Australia’s best, funnest, longest waves.

Scotts Head
Another North Coast gem. This north facing beach attracts surfers nationally for good times and good vibes.
Another longer than life right that wraps around the headland and lays it on some beautiful sand banks.
Ive seen this flat, perfect 2-3 ft and wild 6+ft. It’s a beast and a beuaty all wrapped up in one.
Back this up with camping pretty well on the beach and some cool Cafe’s, Scotts Head is a true gem.

Merrimbula
Merrimbula works so well because there are two quality waves. One protected from Southerly winds and has the southerly swell wrap around the headland for some fun lines.
The other making lines on the other side of the headland and rolls more like a long open beach wave.
Merrimbula is also an epic town. Big enough and small enough.

Cabarita
Cabs steals the last spot. Sure, Byron, Wategoes and the Pass are epic, but up the road is the cutest surf village with some unreal waves.
Cabarita headland offers options for both Northerly and Southerly winds, which is unreal. Ive been lucky enough to be in town when the main beach is pumping and filming is a breeze.
Have we missed any? Probably. but these are our favourite and make up our top 5 best longboard surfing in NSW.
